Young Man Identified as Homicide Victim in Old Town Shooting
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland authorities have recently released the identity of the individual who tragically lost their life in a shooting incident that occurred last month in the Old Town area.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Elimu Nyoka Jackson, whose cause of death has been determined as a gunshot wound, resulting in a homicide.
Additionally, two other individuals were injured during the incident on October 7. Fortunately, they were promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment and have since been released, according to the Portland Police Department.
The shooting took place in the early hours of the morning, shortly before 1 a.m. Portland Police Bureau’s Central Precinct officers were on patrol in the Old Town neighborhood when they heard the sound of gunshots emanating from the intersection of Northwest 4th Avenue and Everett Street. Tragically, Jackson was already deceased by the time the officers arrived at the scene.
As of now, authorities have not disclosed any information regarding a potential suspect in this case. The investigation is ongoing.
