Accident – Death – Obituary News : Connecticut Business Owner Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault During Medical Study

A shocking incident has come to light involving Brian Casella, a 35-year-old business owner from Bethel, Connecticut. Casella, who is the owner of Brookfield-based Vivid Events, a company that provides DJ, lighting, and other services for weddings and similar events, has been arrested and charged with one count of fourth-degree sexual assault. The Connecticut State Police are now investigating whether other women may have been victimized by Casella.

The arrest came after a woman reached out to state police in August seeking advice regarding a troubling encounter with Casella. The woman claimed that Casella had offered her additional money to participate in what he portrayed as a medical study. According to the woman, Casella had her fill out extensive paperwork, including a document that prohibited her from taking any legal action against his company. The victim explained that Casella claimed to be conducting a study on food sensitivity and asked her to lie down on the floor of the Vivid Events office. He then proceeded to use a microphone and a stethoscope to listen to her digestive system, touching her abdomen in the process. The woman also reported that Casella always had a camera set up on a tripod during these sessions.

Shockingly, Casella allegedly escalated the inappropriate behavior over time. He began lifting the woman’s clothing without her consent to access certain areas of her body. He even asked her to participate in a more extensive study that involved taking sleeping pills. The victim reported pretending to be asleep during one session, during which Casella turned off the lights and took photos of her with a polaroid camera. Further sessions involved the use of electric patches similar to those used by physical therapists. In some instances, Casella allegedly had the woman agree to be zip-tied, claiming it was necessary for the tests.

The woman stated that Casella started tampering with security cameras in the building and moved the sessions to a separate office within the same building. He allegedly used sonogram equipment and applied jelly to her body during these sessions. On one occasion, the victim was completely exposed except for her underwear, as Casella referred to it as a “more intricate test.”

The victim eventually decided to put an end to the sessions and sent a text message to Casella, expressing her desire to stop. State police began their investigation and collaborated with a medical expert who confirmed that no legitimate company would hire someone without medical experience to conduct such a study.

In September, state police arranged for the victim to meet Casella while they monitored their conversation from nearby. On September 14, authorities executed a search warrant at Vivid Events and Casella’s home. They discovered various items, including an ultrasound machine, an electrical stimulation machine, and other pieces of evidence that supported the victim’s account.

During questioning, Casella admitted to lying about conducting fake medical exams as part of what he described as an “abdominal fetish.” He confessed to posting ads on Craigslist for these fake studies. State police found over 1,000 photos and videos on Casella’s hard drive and, when asked about the number of victims, he allegedly responded with “a lot.”

Casella has since posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Danbury Superior Court on November 29. Connecticut State Police are urging anyone who may have been victimized by Casella to come forward and contact Detective Barbero at 860-904-0493. All calls will be treated confidentially.

This distressing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious or inappropriate behavior. The authorities are actively investigating this case in the hope of bringing justice to the victims and preventing future incidents from occurring..
