According to reports from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to pull over a rental car for speeding on I-85. However, the driver refused to comply and instead accelerated, initiating a pursuit. During the course of the chase, deputies determined that the vehicle was a rental car.
The driver exited the interstate onto Old Concord Road, where he navigated a series of county roads before returning to the interstate. The police chase continued on I-85 until officers successfully deployed stop sticks near the Peeler Road exit, effectively ending the pursuit at approximately 4:30 in the morning.
Law enforcement identified the driver as 27-year-old Razion Jamal Goode from Gastonia. Upon his arrest, deputies discovered that he had outstanding warrants and a revoked driver’s license. Goode now faces numerous charges, including reckless driving, possession of up to 1.5 ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, driving while license revoked, felony flee to elude, unsafe tires, and two counts of speeding on November 15. He was subsequently detained at the Rowan County Detention Center, with a bond set at $110,000.
In other news from the Salisbury Police Department, a variety of criminal incidents were reported. These include a motor vehicle theft on East Innes Street, where the incident occurred on October 16 but was reported on November 16. Additionally, a residence on North Jackson Street was found to contain weapons and narcotics between August 1 and August 15. Furthermore, incidents of shoplifting, larceny, and credit card fraud were reported in various locations across the city.

Meanwhile, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office also dealt with several criminal cases. These include a larceny from a building on Neel Road and incidents of vandalism causing property damage on Pinevale Drive and Spring Oak Drive. Additionally, drug paraphernalia was discovered at Ed Deal Road in China Grove.
Law enforcement made several arrests related to these incidents. Individuals such as Jerry Richard Wilson, Pili Carolina Poot-Pastrana, Denijay Sontonio Moore, Sherman Cloer Jr., Jacob Jimenez-Vergara, and Joshua Zachariah Polnisch were charged with various offenses ranging from assault on a government official to carrying a concealed gun.
