EL CAJON, Calif. — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting near El Cajon earlier this week. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Hunter White, was taken into custody on Friday in relation to the shooting that occurred on Monday, November 13 in unincorporated El Cajon.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the shooting took place at approximately 9:56 p.m. in the 400 block of E Bradley Avenue. Deputies from Lakeside and Santee discovered the victim, 27-year-old Javier Medina, with critical gunshot wounds at the scene.

Medina was immediately transported to the hospital and tragically succumbed to his injuries two days later on Wednesday, November 15. The investigation into the incident led authorities to arrest White, though the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim remains unknown at this time.

White is currently being held at the San Diego Central Jail and is facing charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
