Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : Noida: A fraudulent call center operating in the city was busted by the police, resulting in the arrest of fourteen individuals involved in the scam. The accused were found to be selling fake health insurance policies to unsuspecting US citizens, defrauding approximately 100 people over the course of the last three to four months.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nikhil Yashwal, Deepanshu Chauhan, Nitin Singh, Ankit Kumar Jhan, Rishabh Gupta, Gaurav Singh, Kuldeep Mishra, Tajim Ali, Ankush Gupta, Orko Sain, Harsh Singh, Nitin Choudhary, Nishant Kumar, and Kamran Faridi. All of them are residents of Delhi or Noida.

The police registered an FIR against the accused under sections 419 (punishment for cheating by personation) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigations and legal proceedings are currently underway.
“The accused were traced and apprehended through a combination of electronic surveillance, manual intelligence, and confidential information,” said Shakti Avasthy, additional DCP, Noida. “During the operation, we seized seven computer desktop sets, internet routers, a laptop, headphones, databases of US phone numbers, and calling scripts.”
The investigation revealed that the accused would make calls to people in the US using fake identities, attempting to convince them to purchase health insurance policies. If the recipient showed interest, the call would be transferred to a company named ‘Harvard Business Services Inc.’ The accused received a commission of $30-35 for each successful conversion.
This fraudulent call center was exposed as a result of diligent efforts by the Noida police. The operation serves as a reminder for individuals to remain vigilant and cautious when receiving calls or offers related to financial matters. It is crucial to verify the authenticity of such calls and not disclose personal or financial information over the phone.
