Local Man on Parole Arrested Again for Alleged Burglary

A 22-year-old man, Jemmerio Tyrell Brown, who had previously been convicted of burglary, was apprehended on Wednesday morning on a felony warrant relating to a burglary that reportedly took place in September. Brown, who refused to disclose his address during the arrest, was taken into custody at around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Pleasant and Grove streets. The charge of residential burglary carries a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.

Brown is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Garland County District Court on December 19. This arrest follows Brown’s previous convictions, with the first occurring on June 1, 2020, for two counts of breaking or entering, resulting in a five-year supervised probation. On May 13, 2022, he was convicted of residential burglary and sentenced to six years in prison. Additionally, his probation from the 2020 conviction was revoked, leading to a concurrent six-year prison sentence.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the incident that led to the recent arrest took place on September 12, when the Hot Springs police responded to a burglary report at a residence on Maryland Street. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the homeowner, who stated that he had returned home at approximately 2 p.m. and witnessed two Black males leaving his house through a side window.

The victim claimed to recognize one of the individuals as someone he knew by the name of “Mario.” On October 2, the homeowner sent an email to HSPD Detective Shawn Stone, attaching a photo of a man identified as “Jemmerio Brown,” whom he alleged to be the individual he recognized during the burglary. Detective Stone compared the photo with other available images, ultimately confirming the person’s identity as Jemmerio Brown. Further investigation revealed that Brown was on parole at the time of the incident, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
