Accident – Death – Obituary News : Five Killed in Speeding Car Crash in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar

At least five individuals tragically lost their lives in a horrific car accident in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday on the Randheja-Pethapur Highway near Keshav Gaushala, when a speeding car collided with a tree.

According to Police Sub-Inspector AS Gamit, the victims, aged between 17 and 22, were returning from a movie screening at Pethapur’s Sunlight theatre when the accident took place. Tragically, five of them died instantly, while another person was rushed to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle was speeding, causing it to crash into a tree and overturn multiple times.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Alfaz, also known as Sujal Belim, Salman Chauhan, Asfak Chauhan, Mohammad Sajeb Belim, and Sahil Chauhan. Another individual, Shahnawab Chauhan, sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical care. All of them hail from Mansa tehsil in Gandhinagar.

Following the tragic incident, the Pethapur police registered a case of rash driving against the driver, who was among the five killed in the accident. The FIR was filed based on a complaint lodged by one of the deceased’s fathers. Chauhan, who was behind the wheel, has been charged with rash driving and causing death by negligence under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Motor Vehicles Act.

The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause and any additional factors that may have contributed to the accident. The police will examine the vehicle and gather statements from witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the crash.
