The Orange Police Department received a report at approximately 6:20 p.m. regarding a pedestrian being struck by several vehicles in front of McDonald’s at 57 Boston Post Road. Responding officers found Mohamadi in the roadway with multiple traumatic injuries, Martins said. The department’s accident reconstruction team promptly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Mohamadi was crossing the Boston Post Road from the north side to the south side when she was hit by an unidentified dark, 4-door vehicle that fled the scene. It is believed that this vehicle struck her while she was in the left westbound travel lane.

In a stroke of luck amidst the tragedy, Mohamadi was subsequently struck by a 2009 Honda Pilot that did stop at the scene. The driver of the Honda Pilot is cooperating with the police in their investigation, Martins confirmed. Both vehicles involved in the incident were traveling westbound on the Boston Post Road.

Following the collision, Mohamadi was immediately transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where she was sadly pronounced dead, according to Martins.
