Riding his 2013 BMW motorcycle, the accident occurred at approximately 11:42 p.m., mere moments after he had set off on his journey. The collision took place on the eastbound lane of Highway 178, just west of Kelso Valley Road.

The California Highway Patrol stated that after the Geo vehicle lost control and began to rotate, it ultimately collided with the passenger side of a Kern County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle. Thankfully, the driver of the patrol vehicle emerged unharmed, albeit emotionally shaken by the tragic events that unfolded before their eyes.
