Brockton Man Killed in Rollover Crash at Interchange of Interstates 93 and 293 in Hooksett, NH

Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : A Brockton resident tragically lost his life in a rollover accident that took place at the interchange of Interstates 93 and 293 in Hooksett, New Hampshire over the weekend. The New Hampshire State Police made this announcement on Wednesday, revealing the details of the unfortunate incident.

The victim has been identified as Jose Evangelista Yanascual Cumbalaza, a 50-year-old man. According to the State Police statement, Cumbalaza was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Saturday. He was a passenger in a 2008 Chevrolet Express van driven by Hendry Matias Chuqui Pena, a 38-year-old man from Brockton.

Pena was traveling southbound when he seemingly lost control of the van. The vehicle veered across the median dividing the I‐293 south and I‐93 south, ultimately rolling over and coming to a stop on the shoulder, as reported by the state police.

Tragically, several occupants of the van were ejected during the crash. Emergency responders transported three individuals to Eliot Hospital to receive treatment for their non-life-threatening injuries. The Hooksett Fire Department also provided assistance at the scene.

Following the accident, the collision analysis and reconstruction unit promptly arrived at the scene to aid in the investigation.
