Accident – Death – Obituary News : Lucknow, November 15: A shocking and brutal incident unfolded in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man was allegedly hacked to death by three individuals, including two brothers. The accused then took the victim’s body on a bike and dumped it in the Rapti River. The police have promptly arrested the three youths in connection with the alleged murder case.

According to reports from Aaj Tak, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has initiated an operation to search for the deceased person’s body. The gruesome incident occurred in Pipri village of Nausadh Chowki area in the Gida police station vicinity, just before the festival of Bhai Dooj. The incident came to light after the disappearance of Umesh Chauhan (35), the son of Umesh Chauhan, on the night of Diwali.

Concerned about his sudden disappearance, Chauhan’s family launched a manhunt to find him, but their efforts proved futile. It was when locals discovered bloodstains near the new colony next to the village that the family grew suspicious. They immediately alerted the police, who initiated an investigation leading to the detention of two brothers after interrogation.

During police questioning, shocking details emerged from the two brothers. They confessed to killing Umesh with an axe and then disposing of his body in the Rapti River. The police revealed that the accused had murdered Umesh with an axe near Pipri New Colony. Subsequently, they dragged his lifeless body for approximately two hundred meters before placing it on a motorcycle and discarding it in the river.

Motivated by revenge, the accused brothers claimed that they killed Umesh to avenge their sister’s death. Nearly a decade ago, Umesh had been involved in a one-sided love affair with a girl from the village. When she rejected his proposal, he allegedly threw acid on her, causing severe burn injuries. The girl’s brother, named Upendra, who was present during the incident, also suffered burn injuries. Upendra had vowed to kill Umesh and, on the day of Diwali, he, along with his brother, fulfilled their revenge by brutally murdering Umesh with an axe just before the Bhai Dooj festival.

The police, along with the SDRF team, initiated a search operation to recover Umesh’s body following the confessions of the accused brothers. However, as of late evening, the body had not been retrieved. The incident has once again highlighted the alarming rise in cases of violence and revenge in the region.
