Daytona Beach Love Triangle Takes a Dangerous Turn as Gunshots Are Fired at a Mother’s Car

In a shocking incident that unfolded on the evening of November 4 in Daytona Beach, a love triangle took a dangerous turn when 20-year-old Zehra Percy allegedly fired shots into a woman’s car. The victim, who had her one-year-old child in the backseat, narrowly escaped harm. The gun used in the incident belonged to Percy’s “sugar daddy.” Percy, believed to be the mistress of the victim’s boyfriend, was subsequently arrested and charged with shooting into a vehicle, a felony, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

The Unfolding of the Incident

The incident occurred in front of an apartment complex in Daytona Beach, where the victim was on her way to Wendy’s with her child. Noticing a car parked in front of their building, which had been seen driving past her home multiple times in the preceding days, she parked close to it. To her surprise, she witnessed her boyfriend and the father of her child exiting an unknown apartment with another woman, later identified as Zehra Percy. A verbal argument erupted, and witnesses heard someone shout, “She has a gun.”

The Alleged Gunfire

Surveillance footage obtained by deputies revealed Percy running to her car, opening the trunk, and retrieving an object. She then pointed it down the street at the victim’s car, where her one-year-old child was seated in the back. Percy allegedly fired multiple shots at the vehicle before fleeing the scene with an unidentified individual. Miraculously, the victim and her child remained unharmed. However, law enforcement discovered two shell casings and a live bullet in front of the apartment building. Unfortunately, the firearm used in the incident was not recovered at the scene.

Arrest and Investigation

Following the incident, Zehra Percy was identified in a lineup by a witness. She was subsequently apprehended during a traffic stop on November 10 while in the company of two other individuals. Percy was taken into custody and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail. A $5,000 bond was set, which she has since posted. During questioning, Percy allegedly admitted to returning the gun to her “sugar daddy,” leaving the location and owner of the firearm unclear according to the affidavit. The investigation is ongoing, and Percy is expected to face charges related to the incident. The victim, who claimed to have never seen Percy before, is cooperating fully with law enforcement officials.
