Bareilly: A tragic incident unfolded in a village in Bareilly, as a 25-year-old woman lost her life after being allegedly killed by her husband in a fit of rage. The motive behind the gruesome act was reportedly the woman’s insistence on visiting her brother for the Bhai Dooj festival. In a shocking turn of events, the man later took his own life by hanging himself, according to the local police.
The distressing incident occurred in Delipur village, situated within the jurisdiction of the Sirauli police station in Bareilly. The victim, identified as Seema, had been married to Rameshwar Maurya since 2014 and the couple had two sons. However, Seema’s family has claimed that frequent arguments were a common occurrence between the husband and wife.
On Tuesday, as the auspicious occasion of Bhai Dooj approached, Seema persistently expressed her desire to visit her brother in Sheikhupur village. This request appears to have triggered an intense outburst of anger from her husband, who subsequently slit her throat in a fit of rage. The assailant then proceeded to take his own life by hanging himself. The shocking discovery of their lifeless bodies was made by concerned neighbors, who immediately alerted the authorities. The bodies have since been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailant initially attacked his wife with a gardening tool, followed by a sickle, while Seema cried out for help. Shockingly, no one dared to intervene due to fear. Once the commotion ceased, locals finally entered the house, only to find Maurya hanging lifelessly and Seema lying in a pool of her own blood. The police have confirmed these harrowing details.
