Black SUV Captured Speeding Through Michigan Neighborhood at Time of Double Murder

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Surveillance footage from a Ring doorbell camera has revealed a black SUV speeding through a Michigan neighborhood last week, coinciding with the discovery of two murder victims just over a mile away.

A shocking video shows a Jeep Trailhawk recklessly driving north down a street in the Alger Heights neighborhood at approximately 11 a.m. on November 6th. The footage later confirmed the presence of a toddler in the backseat of the vehicle.

WOOD, a local affiliate of NewsNation, obtained Ring doorbell footage capturing the moment the young boy, who is nearly three years old, was dropped off at Seymour Park, a vacant corner lot covered in grass.

The video, time-stamped at 11:05 a.m., shows the black SUV coming to a halt and the driver’s side door opening. A person, presumably the driver, steps out, opens the back door, and retrieves the toddler, who was later confirmed to be the son of one of the murder victims. Both victims had been fatally shot.

Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom stated that the child had blood on his clothes upon being dropped off, indicating that he may have witnessed his father’s murder.

After removing the toddler from the backseat, the person carrying him becomes obscured by a fence. However, they can be seen walking or carrying the child across a street to place him in the park. The driver then returns to the vehicle and rapidly speeds away, leaving behind the sound of screeching tires.

The entire process of dropping off the toddler lasts only 23 seconds.

The neighbor who shared the Ring video footage mentioned a brief gap in the recording after the vehicle sped away. When the camera picked up again at 11:10 a.m., a couple walking their dogs had already come to the child’s aid and contacted the police.

Around the same time, approximately a mile and a half west in the Burton Heights neighborhood, concerned neighbors dialed 911 to report a lifeless body riddled with bullet holes lying in the street. The victim was later identified as the toddler’s father, 19-year-old Malik Eubanks.

According to the Grand Rapids Police, Eubanks was dumped there just moments before his son was left at Seymour Park.

The lifeless body of Eubanks’ girlfriend, Aniyia Rodriguez, was found nearby. Rodriguez, 20, had also suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Approximately five hours later, at around 4 p.m., another deadly shooting occurred in the vicinity, resulting in the death of Darryl Yarber.

Later that Monday night, at 7:45 p.m., Grand Rapids Police discovered the abandoned black Jeep approximately three miles away.

The black SUV was identified as belonging to Aniyia Rodriguez.

Fortunately, Eubanks’ son was unharmed and has since been reunited with his mother.

The Grand Rapids Police are currently conducting an extensive investigation to apprehend the killer or killers responsible for these heinous crimes. Detectives urge anyone with information to come forward and contact the police.
