Six Dead and 18 Injured in Horrific Ohio Interstate 70 Bus Crash: Victims Identified as John W Mosely, Jeffery D Worrell, Katelyn N Owens, Dave Kennat, Kristy Gaynor, and Shannon Wigfield

Accident – Death – Obituary News : ETNA, OHIO: A tragic accident took place on Ohio Interstate 70, resulting in the loss of six lives and leaving 18 individuals injured. The incident occurred when a semitruck collided with a charter bus carrying high school students, as reported by the Associated Press.

According to Sean Grady, the Director of Licking County Emergency Management Agency, the crash involved a total of five vehicles. One of the vehicles involved was a Pioneer Trails charter bus, transporting students and chaperones from the Tuscarawas Valley Local School District in eastern Ohio.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed that three passengers on the bus, which had a total of 54 travelers and a driver, were pronounced dead at the scene. These individuals have been identified as teenagers – John W Mosely, 18, of Mineral City; Jeffery D Worrell, 18, of Bolivar; and Katelyn N Owens, 15, of Mineral City.

Additionally, three occupants of another vehicle involved in the crash were also pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Dave Kennat, 56, of Navarre; Kristy Gaynor, 39, of Zoar; and Shannon Wigfield, 45, of Bolivar.

The tragic chain of events unfolded as the vehicles were traveling westbound on Interstate 70 in Licking County, approximately 26 miles east of Columbus. The crash occurred around 9 am, resulting in at least three vehicles catching fire. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, with a team of National Transportation Safety Board investigators visiting the scene.

In response to the devastating incident, the American Red Cross of Central and Southern Ohio has sent 30 units of blood to a hospital in the Mount Carmel Health System, aiming to assist the victims in their recovery.

Political figures have also expressed their condolences and prayers for those affected by the crash. Governor Mike DeWine ordered the flags of the United States of America and the State of Ohio to be flown at half-staff in honor of the lives lost in the Tuscarawas Valley Local School District bus crash. This gesture will be observed throughout Tuscarawas and Stark counties, as well as at various public buildings and grounds across the state.

Lt. Governor Jon Husted extended his heartfelt condolences and prayers to the victims and their families, hoping for a swift and complete recovery for all those injured in the crash.
