New Delhi: In a shocking incident that unfolded in East Delhi, a fierce fight broke out between two groups, leading to stone pelting and leaving five individuals injured. The altercation was triggered by a message sent to one of the victim’s sister-in-law, as reported by a senior police official on Wednesday.

The unfortunate incident resulted in injuries to five individuals, identified as Anurag (20), Ishan (16), Badal (19), Ismit (14), and Bulbul (34).

The local police received distress calls during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, alerting them about a heated quarrel in Kalyanpuri’s 12 block. Responding swiftly, a police team promptly arrived at the scene to restore order.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that a 16-year-old boy had sent a message to Anurag’s 16-year-old sister-in-law, which provoked Anurag. Anurag confronted the boy, warning him against communicating with his relative. Subsequently, at around 10:45 p.m., Anurag and his friend engaged in a heated argument with the minor, which rapidly escalated into a physical altercation. In a bid to support their companion, the minor called upon his relatives and friends, resulting in a violent stone pelting episode,” explained the senior police official.

The stone pelting incident inflicted injuries upon Anurag, Ishan, Badal, Ismit, and Bulbul. All the injured individuals were immediately rushed to LBS Hospital for necessary medical attention,” confirmed the official.

Following the incident, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Law enforcement authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

During the course of the investigation, intensive raids were conducted to apprehend the six alleged culprits involved in the stone pelting incident. As a result, one of the suspects, Jassi alias Jagpal Singh, has been successfully apprehended,” stated the official.

Upon scrutiny of records, it was discovered that Jassi had two previous involvements in criminal activities. The police are currently making relentless efforts to apprehend the remaining co-accused. The investigation into the matter is ongoing,” the official added.
