Investigation Underway as Topeka Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Shooting Suspect

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a suspect believed to be involved in a fatal shooting that occurred in Topeka. The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Tremale M. Serrano.

The incident took place on October 15, at approximately 9:30 a.m., when law enforcement officers responded to a distress call reporting an individual found lying in the front yard of a residence in the 1600 block of SW 21st Street, according to Topeka Police spokesperson, Rosie Nichols.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders discovered the lifeless body of Jackson E. Danner, a 23-year-old resident of Topeka. Sadly, Danner was pronounced deceased on-site.

Following their preliminary investigation, the police have uncovered evidence suggesting the involvement of a second suspect, Tremale Serrano. The authorities are now urging anyone with information regarding Mr. Serrano’s whereabouts to come forward and contact the police immediately.

Arrest Made in Connection with the Death of Jackson E. Danner

In a recent development, on November 14, the Topeka Police successfully apprehended 33-year-old Aaron Serrano, who has since been booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Authorities believe that Serrano’s arrest is connected to the ongoing investigation into the death of Danner.
