An alarming incident of burglary took place at a roadside restaurant in Ban Bueng, Chon Buri, leaving the local community in shock. The incident occurred at 9 am, and the swift response from the local police led by Police Captain Suradet Imjai helped bring the situation under control. The investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Sanchai, also known as Ton, was not a stranger to the victims as they had previously helped him.

The restaurant owner, a 46-year-old woman, was present at the establishment along with her three-year-old daughter when the incident unfolded. While she was bathing her child, she noticed a man entering the restaurant and helping himself to drinks from the fridge, placing them into a basket. Sensing danger, the woman managed to discreetly escape from the premises with her daughter and immediately alerted the neighbors, who in turn informed the police.

Upon arriving at the scene of the burglary, the police found Ton, a tall and thin man dressed in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, sitting nonchalantly on a rock nearby. Upon inspection, two sharp knives were discovered hidden on his person. The police promptly disarmed him and took him into custody for further questioning at the Ban Bueng Police Station.

During the interrogation, Ton confessed that his intention was to steal alcohol and beverages to sell for money. He further admitted to using methamphetamine three to four days prior to the incident, which was confirmed by a positive urine test result. The restaurant owner revealed that she and her husband had previously provided food and employment for Ton. They had even taken him to work in Lat Krabang, where he had been employed for a while until he inexplicably quit about a month ago.

The victim had lost contact with the suspect until the day of the incident. She expressed her relief that both she and her daughter remained unharmed, and her stolen assets were successfully recovered. However, this incident has made her more cautious about extending help to others, especially those with a history related to drug use.

Meanwhile, the police have charged Ton with drug use, theft, and possession of a knife. They are now proceeding with legal action against him. The community is grateful for the prompt response of the police, which ensured the safety of the victims and the swift arrest of the suspect.

This incident serves as a reminder for everyone to be vigilant and cautious, particularly when helping individuals with a history of drug use.
