Accident – Death – Obituary News : One of the victims of a brutal stabbing incident that occurred on the campus of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana has tragically succumbed to her injuries. Annie Richardson, one of the four individuals attacked on Monday morning, passed away at a nearby hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Confirming the devastating news, Ronny Walker, the Mayor of Ruston, revealed that Richardson had died at a hospital in Shreveport, located approximately 70 miles east of the university campus. Authorities swiftly apprehended the suspect, 23-year-old Jacoby Johnson, who is a senior at Louisiana Tech University. According to Ruston Police Chief Steve Rogers, Johnson was arrested without incident after fleeing to the main campus following the assault. The weapon used in the attack was identified as a 4-inch blade.

Johnson now faces four counts of attempted second-degree murder and has been booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. The victims, all women, included a class instructor and three class attendees aged 62, 65, 72, and 23. Dominique McKane, a graduate student, was among the victims, while the others were non-students.

Chief Rogers revealed that a previous issue involving Johnson had been reported approximately a week before the attack took place. However, authorities are currently unaware of the motive behind the stabbing, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted to shed light on this senseless act of violence.

With an enrollment of 11,000 students, Louisiana Tech University plays a significant role in the Ruston community, which has a population of approximately 22,000. This incident has undoubtedly shaken both the campus and the city as a whole.
