The suspect involved in the case has been identified as 35-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Nassar. In addition to Officer Jorge Pastore, the two victims found deceased inside the home have been identified as 32-year-old Riad Mohamed Nassar and 63-year-old Eyman Ahmed Elnemrnassar.

The incident timeline remains largely consistent with the initial information provided by APD interim chief Robin Henderson. It all began with a distressing 911 call from a residence located in the 9300 block of Bernoulli Drive at 2:49 a.m. on November 11. The chilling call featured a woman pleading for help and reporting a stabbing taking place.

Patrol officers swiftly arrived at the scene a mere eight minutes later, at 2:57 a.m. It was at this moment that a third victim, who has chosen to remain unidentified, approached the officers and informed them that she had managed to escape from the residence, where Ahmed Nassar had mercilessly attacked her.

In an attempt to apprehend the suspect, the patrol officers ventured into the residence at 3:01 a.m. However, they were met with a hail of gunfire from Ahmed Nassar. Decisively, the officers retreated without returning fire. Realizing the severity of the situation, a SWAT team was immediately summoned to the scene, as the suspect was heavily armed and holding hostages.

Approximately an hour later, at 4:11 a.m., the SWAT officers made a valiant second attempt to enter the residence. It was during this confrontation that Ahmed Nassar engaged in another exchange of gunfire with the officers, resulting in the injury of two officers, including Officer Pastore.

It is worth noting that three APD officers discharged their weapons during this exchange of gunfire. The first officer has been with APD for nearly nine years, the second for just over 11 years, and the third for nearly 17 years. As per standard procedure, all three officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the ongoing investigations into the incident.

Fortunately, the entire incident was captured on the officers’ body-worn cameras. In accordance with APD policy, the video footage is expected to be released to the public within 10 business days. This will provide crucial evidence and transparency regarding the events that unfolded during the hostage situation.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward. The Capital Area Crime Stoppers can be reached at 512-472-8477, while APD’s Special Investigations Unit can be contacted at 512-974-6840.
