Sarasota Man Faces DUI Charges After Fatally Striking Pedestrian

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Sarasota resident has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after tragically hitting and causing the death of a pedestrian, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities have reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when a 66-year-old man was crossing State Road 72, also known as Clark Road. The victim was struck by a pickup truck driver.

Law enforcement officials have identified the driver as 59-year-old Douglas Cisler. Following the incident, Cisler was apprehended and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. He has since been booked into the Sarasota County Jail.
