A 26-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot in Triangle

A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday evening in Triangle when a 26-year-old man from Big Stone Gap lost his life in a fatal shooting. The local authorities were promptly alerted to the incident after receiving reports of gunshots in the vicinity, according to Master Officer Renee Carr of the Prince William County police.

Responding swiftly, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, situated in the 3700 block of Wharf Lane, at approximately 8:41 p.m. Their arrival revealed the victim, identified as Quatrail Raynard Smalls, lying on the ground with injuries. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the officers immediately administered first aid to Smalls before subsequently rushing him to a nearby hospital. Tragically, despite their efforts, Smalls succumbed to his injuries and passed away, as confirmed by Carr.

During their investigation, officers discovered shell casings scattered on Wharf Lane, indicating that the shooting took place in that area. Additionally, they found a residence within the Linden Park Apartment complex that had been struck by gunfire. Fortunately, no other individuals sustained injuries, and no further property damage was reported at the scene.
