24-Year-Old Glendale Man Arrested after High-Speed Chase and Crash in Washington County, WI

Accident – Death – Obituary News : November 15, 2023 – Washington County, WI – Late last night, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received multiple distressing 911 calls regarding an erratic driver heading northbound on I41 near Lannon Road in the Village of Germantown.

According to five different callers, the vehicle in question was a newer model Camaro with a dealer license plate. Witnesses reported that the driver was exhibiting reckless behavior and driving at various speeds. Shockingly, at one point during the incident, the driver even came to a complete stop in the middle of the traffic lanes on I41.

In addition to these concerning reports, it was revealed that the vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run accident in Waukesha County and had subsequently collided with several barricades upon entering Washington County.

Responding swiftly to the situation, a deputy from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office managed to intercept the driver on I41 at Lovers Lane in the Town of Polk. The driver, later identified as a 24-year-old Glendale man, was asked for the vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). However, instead of complying, the driver chose to flee the scene at high speed. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been stolen during an armed carjacking in Milwaukee.

A pursuit ensued, with the sheriff’s office and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deploying tire deflation devices multiple times in an attempt to stop the fleeing suspect. Finally, the driver crashed on I41 near Church Road in Fond du Lac County, bringing an end to the dangerous pursuit. At its peak, speeds during the chase reached a startling 115 mph.

Law enforcement successfully apprehended the suspect, who was found in possession of a firearm and drugs inside the stolen vehicle. Following standard procedure, the driver was transported to Froedtert Hospital, where he underwent medical clearance and provided a blood sample for alcohol and drug testing.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has requested multiple charges against the suspect, including OWI 2nd (Operating While Intoxicated, 2nd offense), Fleeing/Eluding, 2nd Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Resisting/Obstructing, Operate Without Owner’s Consent, Receiving Stolen Property, Armed While Intoxicated, Possession of THC, and Possession of Schedule II drugs. The suspect is currently in custody at the Washington County Jail.
