Parkersburg Tragedy: Fatal Vehicle Collision Leaves One Dead and Another Hospitalized

PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A devastating vehicle accident on Monday evening has resulted in the loss of one individual’s life and left another hospitalized, as confirmed by local authorities.

According to a press release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 10,500 block of Emerson Avenue in response to reports of a motor vehicle collision that occurred around 7:00pm on Monday, November 13, 2023.

After conducting a thorough investigation, law enforcement officials determined that a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, traveling southbound, had veered into the northbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with a 2007 Charger.

The driver of the Charger, tragically identified as Tracy Allen, a 51-year-old male residing in Parkersburg, sustained fatal injuries from the impact and succumbed to them at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Silverado, identified as 19-year-old Devin Bailey from Williamstown, was immediately transported to Camden Clark Medical Center to receive urgent medical treatment for his sustained injuries.

As of now, the exact cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Wood County Crash Team, who will tirelessly work to determine the factors contributing to this tragic incident.

Multiple agencies rushed to the scene of the accident, including the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Parkersburg Police Department, Waverly and Williamstown Volunteer Fire Departments, and Camden Clark Ambulance Services. Their prompt response and coordinated efforts were crucial in ensuring that the injured received immediate medical attention and that the area was secured.
