Upon arrival, deputies discovered an infant displaying minimal signs of life. The child was quickly transported to a local hospital via an ambulance. The father, identified as Trent Michael Lindsay, informed the authorities that he had left the child sleeping while he was outside. However, upon his return, he found the infant in an unresponsive state.

Detectives from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office noticed inconsistencies in Lindsay’s account of events. Consequently, they decided to visit the hospital where the infant was receiving medical attention and consulted with the attending medical staff.

Following a thorough investigation, the detectives determined that the child’s injuries did not align with Lindsay’s statement. They also gathered evidence from medical professionals, which provided enough probable cause to apprehend the father.

Trent Michael Lindsay has been arrested on charges of child desertion, cruelty to juveniles, and attempted second-degree murder. He has since been transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center, where he is currently held on a $210,000 bond.
