Accident – Death – Obituary News : NIA Seizes Eight Properties of LeT Operatives Involved in Escaping Pakistani Terrorist

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against terrorism by attaching eight properties belonging to two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives. These individuals were allegedly involved in assisting Pakistani terrorist Naveed Jatt in his escape from police custody in 2018. The incident took place when Jatt was being treated at a hospital in Srinagar, and a police team was attacked by the operatives, resulting in Jatt’s release.

The NIA, in a recent statement, highlighted its relentless efforts to combat terrorist organizations and their operatives in Kashmir. The agency revealed that the attachment of properties is in connection with a 2018 case involving the forcible release of a terrorist through a fatal attack on a police party at a Srinagar hospital. The properties were attached under Section 33 (1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, following orders from the NIA Special Court in Jammu.

The attached properties include five belonging to Mohd Shafi Wani and three belonging to Mohd Tikka Khan, both residents of Singoo Narbal in Pulwama. The NIA clarified that these individuals were identified as overground workers of the LeT. The attached properties consist of various plots of land, including the residential house of Mohd Shafi Wani.

The case in question revolves around the killing of two personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police. They were escorting LeT terrorist Naveed Jatt, also known as Abu Hanzla, to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for a medical examination on February 6, 2018. At that time, Jatt, a Pakistani-origin terrorist, was forcibly released in a meticulously planned attack orchestrated by the two accused along with others, as per the orders from their LeT commanders based in Pakistan. It is worth noting that Jatt was later killed in an encounter with security forces in 2018.

Furthermore, Naveed Jatt was believed to be responsible for the assassination of journalist Shujaat Bukhari outside his office at Residency Road in June 2018. The NIA emphasized that the attachment of the properties of Mohd Shafi Wani and Mohd Tikka Khan is a significant step towards curbing the activities of the LeT and its operatives in the region.

The two accused were arrested from their homes in Pulwama on February 8, 2018, and were found to be in possession of weapons. They were subsequently charge-sheeted on August 3, 2018, and are currently facing trial before the NIA Special Court in Jammu under various legal provisions.

This recent development by the NIA showcases the agency’s unwavering commitment to tackling terrorism in the region. By targeting the financial assets of LeT operatives, the NIA aims to disrupt their networks and cripple their ability to carry out further attacks. The attachment of these properties serves as a stern warning to anyone involved in terrorist activities, emphasizing that the Indian security forces will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of justice and peace.

The NIA’s actions also send a strong message to neighboring countries that support and harbor terrorists. This move demonstrates India’s determination to dismantle terrorist networks and hold accountable those who aid and abet terrorism within its borders.

In conclusion, the attachment of eight properties belonging to LeT operatives involved in the escape of a Pakistani terrorist marks a significant milestone in the fight against terrorism in Kashmir. The NIA’s relentless efforts to disrupt terrorist activities and bring the perpetrators to justice will undoubtedly contribute to the stability and security of the region..
