Man Charged with Manslaughter in Death of Five-Year-Old Boy in Alberta Foster Home

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have announced that a man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the tragic death of a five-year-old boy residing in a foster home located in a rural area near Leduc, Alberta, situated south of Edmonton. The incident occurred in June of 2022.

Emergency Crews Respond to Distressing Call

On that fateful day, emergency crews swiftly responded to a distressing call reporting the death of a child at a residence in the aforementioned rural area near Leduc. At the time, the cause of the child’s death remained unknown, prompting the involvement of the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit.

Victim Identified as Patience Noskiye

The young boy who tragically lost his life has now been identified as Patience Noskiye. The news of his untimely demise has left the local community in shock and mourning.

Lengthy Investigation Leads to Arrest

Following an extensive and meticulous investigation, authorities arrested 47-year-old Darren Gardner in mid-October. The arrest came after a thorough examination of the evidence and collection of statements from relevant individuals involved in the case.

Release from Custody and Upcoming Court Date

Darren Gardner has since been released from custody pending his next court appearance, which is scheduled for November 16, 2023. The Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc will preside over the proceedings.
