On November 12, a shooting incident occurred on the 1500 block of F Street, NE, resulting in the death of one man and leaving another in critical condition. The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Homicide Branch is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

Upon receiving a report of a shooting, MPD officers promptly responded to the scene. Inside a residence, they discovered two men who had sustained gunshot wounds. Tragically, one of the men, identified as 31-year-old Leon Carter, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The MPD is now appealing to the public for any information that may lead to the identification and apprehension of the individual or individuals responsible for this heinous crime. As part of their efforts to combat violent crimes in the District, the MPD offers a reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides.
