Martinez, California – Jury Returns Guilty Verdicts in 2018 Antioch Double Murder Case

A jury in Martinez, California, has delivered guilty verdicts on November 9th in a double murder trial that took place in Antioch in 2018.

Dontay Javon Williams, a 40-year-old resident of Oakland, has been found guilty of the murders of Milan Ardoin, aged 28, and her mother, Valinda Scott, aged 55. The court heard that Ardoin was in a relationship with Williams but had expressed her intention to end the relationship via email exchanges. In the early morning hours of July 5, 2018, Williams traveled from Oakland to Antioch, where he fatally shot both Ardoin and Scott outside their residence before fleeing on foot.

During the investigation into the shooting, Antioch Police officers discovered Williams’ wallet on a sidewalk near the crime scene, a crucial piece of evidence that linked him to the murders.

Williams has been convicted of two counts of murder, with enhancements for intentionally discharging a handgun, lying in wait, and multiple murders. Additionally, he has been convicted of possession of a firearm with a prior violent conviction for robbery in Oakland in 2005.
