Four High School Students Suspected of Jewelry Theft from Colorado’s Locker Room

Authorities have identified four high school students as suspects in the recent theft of jewelry and other valuable items from Colorado’s locker room during a game against UCLA at the Rose Bowl. The Pasadena Police Department has reported that a targeted search conducted on students from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, California, led to the recovery of stolen items belonging to Colorado football players, as reported by Steve Henson of the Los Angeles Times.

According to Henson, several Colorado Buffaloes players had jewelry stolen from their lockers, while others reported missing headphones and cash. Investigations led by Jason Brown, host of “The Coach JB Show with Big Smitty” podcast, revealed that two of the suspects were part of the Beaumont High School football team and had been recruited by UCLA. Brown stated that these players were apprehended by the police while the Beaumont team was en route to a playoff game.

UCLA spokesperson Liza David confirmed that none of the four suspects were on an official NCAA recruiting visit when they attended the game on October 28. This suggests that their presence at the Rose Bowl was unrelated to any official team activities.

The incident drew strong condemnation from Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, who called on the NCAA to intervene. Sanders expressed his dismay at the “travesty” of his players being robbed during a game and expressed hope that they would be compensated for their losses.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the theft, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to Pasadena spokesperson Lisa Derderian.
