Body of Missing Sutherlin Man Discovered in Wilbur, Oregon

WILBUR, Oregon – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has announced the tragic discovery of the body of a 49-year-old Sutherlin man who was reported missing earlier this month. The body was found on Thursday evening near Wilbur Road, close to Highway 99.

According to the authorities, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received crucial information just before 9:30 p.m. on November 9, revealing the presence of a deceased individual in the specified area. Deputies promptly responded to the scene and verified the discovery of the lifeless body. The victim has been identified as Billy Wayne Whitehead, a resident of Sutherlin.

Prior to this devastating development, Whitehead had been reported as a missing person to the Sutherlin Police Department on November 2. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
