24-Year-Old Mar’layza West Identified as Victim in Fatal Colorado Springs Crash

The incident occurred on October 28 and resulted in the death of one individual, while the other occupants of both vehicles involved were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to CSPD’s investigation, an SUV was traveling on North Academy Boulevard, intending to make a left turn onto westbound East Platte Avenue. Simultaneously, a car was heading southbound on North Academy Boulevard, entering the intersection. The two vehicles collided within the intersection, leading to the ejection of one passenger from the SUV. Unfortunately, this passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

CSPD has highlighted that speed is being considered a significant factor in this ongoing investigation. The authorities are working diligently to gather all the necessary evidence and information to determine the exact cause of the crash and any potential contributing factors.
