10-Year-Old Child Dead in Gun Battle at Pearland Flea Market, David Negrete Identified as Gunman

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with a tragic gun battle that took place at a Pearland flea market, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old child. The suspect, identified as David Negrete, remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when two individuals, who were previously unknown to each other, engaged in a heated argument that escalated into a gunfire exchange inside Cole’s Flea Market.

The aftermath of the shootout left four additional victims injured, aged 14, 16, 18, and 37. Julianna Espino, 18, and Cruz Meza have been arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence and making false statements. The five victims, including the 10-year-old boy who tragically succumbed to his injuries, were all innocent bystanders. A 14-year-old girl and a 37-year-old man were transported to local hospitals and are currently in stable condition. The man has since been released.

Further investigations are underway to determine the involvement of two teenage boys, aged 16 and 18, in the shooting. The 16-year-old is undergoing surgery, while the 18-year-old is in stable condition. Authorities have charged Negrete, aged 19, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Efforts are being made to establish whether the injured teenagers played a role in the incident.

In response to the tragic event, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a $15,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators. Governor Abbott expressed his condolences, stating, “Texas mourns the loss of a precious child following the devastating tragedy in Pearland yesterday, and our hearts are with the four other victims in the hospital as they recover from their injuries. The State of Texas is deploying our full support to local law enforcement to ensure the perpetrators of this crime are caught and brought to justice.”
