A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday morning, November 12, in North Redondo Beach, as a woman lost her life in a single-car crash. The incident also led to the arrest of a male passenger on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Redondo Beach police responded to a call at approximately 9:35 a.m. reporting a vehicle crash at the intersection of Lilienthal and Alvord lanes.

According to Lt. Mark Valdivia, officers arrived at the scene to find a crashed vehicle. The woman, who was driving the car, unfortunately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The male passenger, identified as Jacob Jordan Nimz, 34, from North Dakota, sustained minor injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the exact nature of the assault with a deadly weapon allegation that led to Nimz’s arrest. Lt. Valdivia stated that the investigation is ongoing, with the police working diligently to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
