Woman Killed in North Redondo Beach Car Crash, Passenger Arrested

A tragic incident unfolded in a quiet residential area of North Redondo Beach on Sunday morning, November 12th, when a woman lost her life in a single-car crash. The passenger in the vehicle was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, leaving the community in shock.

The Redondo Beach Police Department received an emergency call at approximately 9:35 a.m., alerting them to a car crash at the intersection of Lilienthal and Alvord lanes. Responding swiftly, officers discovered a vehicle that had collided with an object, resulting in significant damage.

Tragically, the female driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the male passenger, who had sustained minor injuries, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Authorities have identified the passenger as 34-year-old Jacob Jordan Nimz, hailing from North Dakota. Following his treatment, Nimz is expected to face arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. However, the specific details of the alleged assault have not been disclosed by the authorities as the investigation is still ongoing.

“We’re still in the process of gathering all the necessary information and piecing together the events leading up to the crash,” said Lt. Mark Valdivia of the Redondo Beach Police Department.
