The first incident occurred on November 10 around 12:40 a.m. on the GA 10 Outer Loop near Chase Street, according to the local police.

Authorities reported that Michael Sorrells, a 43-year-old resident of Hull, was traveling west when he collided with a pedestrian walking on the highway. The victim, identified as John Clark, a 59-year-old Athens resident, tragically lost his life in the accident. At present, no charges have been filed against Sorrells, and the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.

In another unfortunate incident on Saturday, a Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Buddy Christian Way veered off the roadway after the driver lost control. The vehicle crossed the center line and ultimately left the road. Emergency services quickly responded and rushed the driver, identified as 28-year-old Kenry Monterola, to the hospital. However, despite their efforts, Monterola succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The investigation into this crash is also currently underway.
