GoC 15 Corps Celebrates Diwali at LoC

Srinagar, November 12: Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, the General Officer Commanding of the 15 Corps, paid a visit to various formations, including those deployed along the Line of Control (LoC), to join troopers in celebrating the festival of Diwali. The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps announced on X that the #ChinarCorps Cdr had visited frontline units along the LoC and in the hinterland to mark the occasion. The Corps also conveyed best wishes for good health and happiness to the families of the troopers. Lt General Ghai expressed his admiration for the troops’ high morale and combat readiness during the visit. In an earlier post, the 15 Corps extended Diwali greetings to all ranks and citizens of Kashmir, wishing them happiness and prosperity on this special occasion. (PTI)

Toll in Kerala Blasts Rises to 5

Kochi, November 12: The Kerala government announced on Sunday that the death toll from the blasts that occurred during a Christian religious gathering near Kochi two weeks ago has now reached five. The latest victim, identified as 45-year-old Sally Pradeepan from Malayattoor in Ernakulam district, passed away at a private hospital on Saturday night. The government health bulletin revealed that she had been on ventilator support. Presently, 17 injured individuals are receiving treatment in various hospitals in Kochi. The medical board’s bulletin stated that eight of them are in intensive care units, with one in critical condition, while the remaining nine are in regular wards. The multiple blasts took place at an international convention centre in Kalamassery, near the port city of Kerala, during a religious gathering of the Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 29. Over 50 people were injured during the incident, some of them seriously. Shortly after the blasts, a man named Dominic Martin, who claimed to be an estranged member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, surrendered to the police in Thrissur district, confessing to carrying out the attacks. The police subsequently arrested him. (PTI)
