Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : Three Men Fatally Shot in St Catherine South Division

Over the past 24 hours, the St Catherine South division has witnessed a surge in violence, with three men being tragically murdered in two separate incidents. The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Cedric Crooks from Gregory Park, 46-year-old Richard Manley from Christian Meadows, and a man known only as Anthony from Marlie Gates in Old Harbour.

The first incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Saturday at a bar in Portmore, where Crooks and Manley were socializing with other patrons. Suddenly, a lone gunman approached them and opened fire. Unfortunately, both Crooks and Manley succumbed to their injuries, while an elderly man who was also shot was admitted to the Spanish Town Hospital for treatment.

Prior to this incident, another shooting took place on Friday night in Marlie Gates, resulting in the death of Anthony. According to reports, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Anthony was sitting outside a residence in the community in the company of another man. Suddenly, three armed individuals stormed the premises, forcefully took Anthony into nearby bushes, and mercilessly shot him.

At present, the motives behind both shootings remain unknown, leaving detectives from the police division and the Major Investigation Division to launch thorough investigations into these heinous crimes.

The recent spike in violence has undoubtedly raised concerns within the St Catherine South division. Communities are now on high alert, with residents demanding increased police presence and intensified efforts to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for these senseless acts.
