Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : North Carolina Car Chase Ends with Fatal Crash into Winston-Salem Apartment Building

Winston-Salem, NC – A car chase in North Carolina ended tragically on Wednesday when the fleeing vehicle crashed into an apartment building, resulting in one fatality and another person being hospitalized. According to troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. in Forsyth County.

The pursuit began when the State Highway Patrol attempted to stop a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire for displaying a fictitious registration plate. However, the driver, identified as Brandon Walker of Lexington, failed to comply with the officers’ commands and attempted to flee, initiating the chase.

The pursuit continued until Walker reached a curve on Cole Road and Utah Drive, where he was unable to maintain a safe speed and veered off the road to the right. The vehicle subsequently collided with an apartment building, causing extensive damage. Unfortunately, Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released any details regarding the passenger of the fleeing vehicle, but it has been confirmed that they were transported to Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries. Fortunately, the apartment building was unoccupied at the time of the crash, preventing any further casualties.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash and gather more information about the events leading up to it. It is unclear at this time whether any charges will be filed against the passenger of the fleeing vehicle.
