Newly Married Woman Found Dead in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority

KARACHI: In a tragic incident, a recently married woman was discovered shot dead in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Sunday evening, prompting a thorough investigation by local authorities to determine whether it was a case of suicide or murder.

The deceased, identified as Quratul Ain, also known as Aini Bugti, had entered into a civil marriage a few weeks ago against the wishes of her parents. The young couple had tied the knot on their own free will in Karachi, despite familial objections. They were residing in an apartment located in the upscale DHA Phase-VIII, where the woman’s lifeless body was found.

DIG-South Syed Asad Raza, while shedding light on the incident, revealed that the husband claimed his wife had taken her own life by shooting herself due to the complications arising from their free-will marriage. The exact circumstances leading to the tragic event are yet to be determined.

Both the husband and wife hailed originally from the province of Balochistan, highlighting the diverse backgrounds of the individuals involved in the incident.

Following the discovery of the deceased woman, her body was promptly transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for necessary medico-legal procedures.

This unfortunate incident has left local authorities and residents of DHA in shock and disbelief. The investigation into the matter continues as the police aim to unravel the truth behind this heartbreaking incident.
