Tragic Accident Claims Life of Louisiana Woman in Scarborough
SCARBOROUGH (WGME) — A devastating accident on Payne Road in Scarborough has resulted in the untimely death of a 38-year-old woman from Abbeville, Louisiana. Megan M. Plowden, the sole occupant of the vehicle involved, sustained severe injuries in the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she passed away.

The Scarborough Police Department received a report of a “driving complaint” on Gorham Road at approximately 7:19 a.m. on Sunday. The driver, who was last seen heading towards Payne Road, was the subject of concern. Tragically, less than five minutes later, another call was received reporting a serious accident in the same vicinity.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash that claimed Megan M. Plowden’s life. Determining the factors that contributed to this unfortunate incident is of utmost importance to prevent similar accidents in the future.

Tragically, the female driver, who was the sole occupant, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The identity of the deceased is yet to be disclosed.
