Lake Havasu City Police Arrest Shad Haddad, Elizabeth Starheim, and Brian Watland on Felony Drug Charges

Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : An investigation conducted by officials from the Lake Havasu City Police Department resulted in the apprehension of three local residents on serious drug-related charges last week.

The first arrest occurred around 6:30 p.m. last Thursday, during a routine traffic stop on the 3500 block of Maricopa Avenue. According to the police, Shad Haddad, a 52-year-old resident of Havasu, who was the driver of the vehicle, allegedly threw an object out of his window during the stop. Officers managed to retrieve the discarded item, which was later determined to be a bag containing approximately 92 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Haddad was immediately taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with possession of drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and three counts of misconduct with a weapon. Following his initial court appearance, Haddad was remanded to the Mohave County Jail, with bail set at $50,000.

Approximately 45 minutes after Haddad’s arrest, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a residence on the 3600 block of Challenger Drive. During the search, authorities discovered various drug paraphernalia, a small quantity of methamphetamine, and a firearm.

In addition to Haddad, two other individuals were also arrested as part of the investigation. Elizabeth Starheim, a 58-year-old Havasu resident, was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. After her initial court appearance, Starheim was transferred to the Mohave County Jail, where she remains in custody as of Tuesday, with bail set at $5,000.

Brian Watland, a 56-year-old individual implicated in the investigation, was charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. However, following his initial court appearance, Watland was released from custody on his own recognizance.
