UDUPI: In a horrifying incident that has shocked the residents of Tripthi Nagara near Nejar, under the Malpe police station limits in Udupi, a woman and her three children were brutally murdered in their own residence on Sunday morning. The assailant, who arrived in an autorickshaw, swiftly carried out the heinous act before fleeing the scene, leaving behind a traumatized community.

The victims have been identified as 47-year-old Haseena, her 23-year-old son Afnan, 21-year-old daughter Aynaz, and 14-year-old son Aseem. Haseena’s elderly mother-in-law, Hajira, who was present during the incident, managed to survive the attack but sustained critical injuries. She is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital, according to police sources.

The motive behind these shocking murders remains unknown at this time. Reports suggest that an unidentified man entered the residence and proceeded to stab all five individuals. While Haseena and her three children tragically lost their lives at the scene, Hajira managed to lock herself in the bathroom, saving her own life. Upon visiting the crime scene, Udupi SP Dr Arun K stated that the murders did not appear to be driven by financial gain, as no valuable items were missing from the house.
