The tragic incident took place around 2 a.m. at the intersection of 2000 Fannin St. According to the Houston Police Department’s investigation, Lauren Robinson was driving a black Acura SUV eastbound on Pierce Street, having the right of way with a green light, when a black Chrysler 300, driven by Christian Herrera, approached the intersection at a high speed, disregarding the red light. The Chrysler collided with the Acura, causing the ejection of three individuals from the vehicle. Tragically, the Chrysler also veered off the road and struck Frank Johnson, who was a pedestrian at the time.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced both Frank Johnson and Izuchu Oragwu dead. Zachary McMillian and Derek Hayden were rushed to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to their injuries shortly after, according to the Houston Police Department.

In addition to the fatalities, two other passengers in the Acura, a 32-year-old man, and a 30-year-old woman, sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman is currently in critical but stable condition, while the man’s condition is stable. Investigators have confirmed that both individuals are conscious and able to communicate.
