Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : ELIZABETHTOWN, Ind. — A man from Bartholomew County, Indiana, has been arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at his neighbor. The incident occurred in the 300 block of 5th Street in Elizabethtown early Friday morning. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious person and upon arrival, discovered that a male subject had approached the complainant, brandished a handgun, and accused them of theft.

The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Joshua Woodruff, believed that the complainant had stolen from him and hidden the stolen items in the trunk of a car. Woodruff then left the neighbor’s home and returned to his nearby residence. When law enforcement arrived at Woodruff’s home, he reportedly yelled at them.

Woodruff was subsequently taken into custody, and a search warrant was executed on his residence. During the search, deputies discovered seven firearms, along with methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

The owner of the residence, Nicole Woodruff, was also taken into custody after the search concluded. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

Joshua Woodruff currently faces preliminary charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, as well as possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Possession of methamphetamine is considered a Level 4 Felony in Indiana, carrying a maximum penalty of a 12-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident. While Nicole Woodruff has been released from custody, Joshua Woodruff remains in custody at this time.
