According to the MPD, the final jailbreaker, identified as Jefferson Bunso Tumbaga, was apprehended in Bacoor City, Cavite at 2:15 a.m. following an extensive search operation.

The nine detainees who had escaped were facing a range of charges, including illegal drug possession, robbery, and the illegal possession of firearms. Their escape had raised concerns about public safety.

MPD Police Colonel Arnold Thomas Ibay had previously revealed that the detainees had been able to break free after allegedly tearing down the steel bars in Station 1’s jail facility. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on November 8.

As a result of the jailbreak, the station commander, his deputy, the duty officer, and the policemen on duty at the time have all been administratively relieved from their positions to facilitate a thorough investigation into the matter.
