86-Year-Old Thomas McKeown Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run Involving His Son in Pinellas County, Florida

The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) swiftly responded to the scene at R Bar, located at 245 108th Avenue, following the incident that occurred around 8:36 p.m. Deputies discovered that a 2019 black Dodge Ram, driven by 61-year-old Mark McKeown of Highland, Michigan, was involved in the shocking incident.

According to investigators, Thomas McKeown approached the parked truck and seemingly fell to the ground in front of it. In a disturbing turn of events, the pickup truck began to move, running over the elderly man and dragging him across the parking lot. Shockingly, the truck reversed and moved forward multiple times, each time striking Thomas before abruptly fleeing the scene.

Mark McKeown, the son of the victim, was apprehended by authorities and now faces charges of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Death. The investigators have noted that impairment appears to be a contributing factor to this tragic incident.
