The unfortunate crash took place at approximately 1:55 p.m., when a Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Charleston Boulevard near Merialdo Lane. The Toyota, attempting to make a turn, unexpectedly crossed paths with an Acura TLX, which was traveling at high speed in the opposite direction.

Tragically, an 81-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Toyota, lost her life at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, identified as an 80-year-old man, sustained moderate injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, as confirmed by the police.
The driver of the Acura, identified as Fahid Amin, a 35-year-old resident of Las Vegas, also suffered minor injuries in the collision. However, upon investigation, law enforcement authorities noticed signs of impairment in Amin and subsequently arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence. He now faces charges related to driving under the influence (DUI).
