Law Enforcement Investigates Fatal Stabbing, Appeals for Public Assistance in Locating Suspect

KANSAS CITY — Authorities are currently engaged in a thorough investigation into a deadly stabbing incident, urging the public to come forward with any information that may help locate the suspect.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, an individual suffering from apparent stab wounds was brought to Fire Station #3 in Independence, Missouri, by a concerned citizen seeking immediate medical attention, as stated in an official media release.

Despite the prompt medical assistance provided by the fire department personnel, the victim tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Through their ongoing investigation, authorities have determined that the stabbing took place in the vicinity of Truman Road and Hardy Avenue. They have identified a person of interest in connection with the incident, 34-year-old Anthony J. Durkin.

Described as a white male standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 155 pounds, Durkin has brown hair, brown eyes, and distinctive tattoos. One tattoo bearing the word “RESPETO” can be found on the right side of his neck, while another tattoo depicting “Scooby Doo” is located on his right arm.

Durkin is known to be homeless and frequently seen around the 24 Highway and Sterling Avenue area.
