Bengaluru: A picturesque town in Karnataka’s coastal district of Udupi was plunged into mourning as news broke of a horrific crime that claimed the lives of a family of four, including a 12-year-old boy. As the community reels from shock, the police have launched a thorough investigation to uncover the motive behind the gruesome murders.

The serene town of Udupi, renowned for its scenic beauty and popular among tourists, is now grappling with the aftermath of this heinous act.

Preliminary findings from the police indicate that three members of the family were killed inside their residence near Tripthi Nagar in Udupi. However, it appears that the 12-year-old boy, upon hearing the commotion, bravely entered the room where the murders were taking place. In an attempt to eliminate any potential evidence, the assailants also targeted the young boy.

A witness from the neighborhood informed the police that she had ventured outside to investigate the commotion but was met with threats from the suspects, further highlighting the sinister nature of the crime.

The victims have been identified as Haseena, aged 46, and her two adult children, Afghan (23) and Aynaz (21). Tragically, the youngest member of the family, a 12-year-old boy, also lost his life in this brutal attack. Haseena’s mother-in-law sustained serious stab injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Speaking to reporters, Udupi Superintendent of Police, Arun Kumar, confirmed the grim details, saying, “Four individuals have been tragically murdered, while one person has been injured. Haseena and her three children were brutally stabbed to death. We are providing necessary support to the injured mother-in-law and will leave no stone unturned in our investigation to bring the culprits to justice.”

Law enforcement officials have already visited the crime scene and are committed to conducting a thorough and meticulous investigation. Their primary goal is to identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this heinous crime that has shaken the peaceful community of Udupi.
